Jeep 4.0 inline Six Cylinders are EXTREMELY common to Crack, Bust, Slap, And even have wrist pin noises. Dex highly recommends getting ahead of the issue with New Updated pistons and keep your engine on the road and avoid having to purchase a used engine with the same problematic pistons or causing so much damage to your engine that it becomes unfit to rebuild.
Most People Will Just Be Needing Stock Standard Bore Sizes to Replace Their OEM Pistons, But I have Added The Option To Order OVER Sized Bores. Order Them and Leave A Note With You Needed Bore Size. This May Take 2-3 Weeks on Over Size Bores.
You'll see prices below, and at if you cancel out the Connecting Rod core charge, you should have around $435 in a set of Pistons installed on rods with Rings that should keep your engine going for a long time. So If you do send your old Piston/Rod assembly back I will issue the Full charge back to you.
I Now Offer Rod Bearing In KING Name Brands CLICK HERE For Them
CORES Be sure to keep rod caps in factory location per rod, If caps gets mixed up I can't risk re using them as a rod so no core refund, and I do provide return label with purchase.

- 544 Casting Rods seemed to be used in 1987-1995 Jeep 4.0 Engines. These used pistons that were not common to give issues, so you more than likely will not have this rod but this rod WILL WORK in ANY 4.0 from 1987-2006 In any model Jeep with zero issues.
- 691 Casting Rods seemed to be used in 1996-1999/2001 Jeep 4.0s before they changed to the new AB block. These are basically the same as the 544s, just a different year of a casting number of a connecting rod. These WILL WORK in ANY 4.0 from 1987-2006 In any model Jeep with zero issues which rod you had before.
- 548 Casting Rod Is when Jeep swapped to the 1999/2000-2006 "AB" Block or the Newer Coil Pack style Head (00-01 XJs stuck with 691s) Looks like anything newer now days, Just tried to make it a pinch cheaper that previous years. If you have these in your engine, you can run 544s or 691 with zero issues at all, I have done many swaps myself using a different casting rod vs what came out of the engine.

I have added two other brand, Sealed Power is struggling to keep in stock for me to order. I choose SILV-O-LITE as a higher quality brand, and I choose EngineTech as a more budget friendly brand and will come with enginetech rings as well. The Silv-o-lite definitely feels like a much higher quality product which reflects the price, they will come with Hastings rings like the sealed power.
