This is the support strap that goes across the back of the oil pan on Jeep 4.0 engines. They are used for extra support around the rear main portion of the pan its self. This are is common for the gasket to miss or fall out the the Main Cap guide, so take extra caution around this spot when installing an oil pan/gasket.
The newer engines use a strap bracket with rubber casted to it for visual appearances I assume, they work the exact same as the ones with out rubber. It is hard for me to keep the rubber ones, these are interchangeable regardless which one you have or had on your engine.
These are pulled from core engines, shouldn't have any issues, but if I notice anything wrong I will scrap it if so.
1987-2001 4.0 - Not sure if they are the same on older 4.2 engines.
